Criteria and nominations.
Each year your National Association of Legal Advocacy Educators (NALAE) awards its “Academic All-American Advocates Awards” which recognize the top law school student-advocates who have achieved academically and who have displayed extraordinary prowess and professionalism in the courtroom and beyond.
Nominations must be sent by April 15 to NALAE’s Vice President by completing the online form provided on this site. Only NALAE member institutions in good standing can nominate a candidate and only one nominee per member institution. Nominations must be sent through the law school’s official representative as identified on NALAE’s Official Contact Roster. Nominations are not public information and will not be publicly disclosed.
Award recipients will be determined by NALAE’s Awards Selection Awards Committee and announced on the NALAE website at 7:00 p.m. (EDT) on May 1. In addition to each award recipient receiving a framed award, each recipient’s bio and photo will appear on the Award Recipients page on the NALAE website.
Specifically, NALAE’s All-American Advocates are the nation’s top trial advocacy, appellate advocacy and dispute resolution law school student-advocates who have achieved (1) academic success, (2) competition success, and (3) provided meaningful contributions to their team, law school or broader civic community.
“Academic Success” is defined as an above-average cumulative law school grade point average.
“Competition Success” is defined as, a law school student who:
“Meaningful Community Contributions” is broadly defined as any student-advocate who goes above and beyond by helping others whether it is beneficial to teammates, schoolmates, members of the community or others.
